“Outliers” Provide the Innovative Spark to U.S. Education

Abstract
The educational system in the United States currently finds itself in a quandary. Various attempts at educational
reform have come to an impasse. A new paradigm for the infusion of innovation into the educational system may
be found by looking outside it. Identifying “outliers” as agents of needed change and inspiration is highlighted.
