Abstract
The purpose of this research project was to analyze Native American themed children’s literature in hopes of
finding quality books to use in the educational setting. It is imperative that today’s educators have a wide range

facts from history and the present is essential. Our research questions included making sure Native Americans
were positively portrayed, what were the student takeaways from reading the book, and what other corresponding
themes were present in the text.
